Upon a Star Contest

I can hardly contain my excitement over the launch of the 2012 “Upon A Star” Wedding Gown Giveaway! I had the pleasure of attending a lovely contest kick-off brunch, at Hitched Salon, last Friday and met the fabulous designer, Jorge Manuel. Not only is he completely sweet + adorable but his designs are unique and beyond stunning. Just perfect for our brides! You can submit your entry for the chance to win a custom-made, couture wedding gown by designer Jorge Manuel until March 17th. Visit Jorge Manuel’s website for the official contest rules + application. To enter, simply upload a fun photo of you + your honey, along with a brief explanation of your wedding style and why this year’s Eternal Flame gown would fit into your aesthetic.

The Eternal Flame is the perfect combination of modern chic + classic elegance and we can’t wait for you to have the chance to wear it as you walk down the aisle!

Any bride-to-be in the United States can enter, but you must be able to come to the nation’s capital for the big reveal of the gown (and an incredibly fabulous party at Hitched to be thrown in your honor) when the winner is announced on May 18th!

Applications are available at www.jorgemanuelweddings.com and must be submitted online by March 17th, 2012. Finalists will be chosen by a panel of judges by March 26th, at which point voting from the public will begin. Winner will be chosen by a combination of votes by the judges and the general public. It’s no secret that I tend to become attached to my brides. I love getting to know them, their stories and developing a friendship. Kate and I worked on planning her wedding for a year and a half and by the end, I felt like a part of the family. I loved seeing the expression on guest’s faces as they entered the reception. Lots of dropping jaws. It was amazing! Thank you, Paul Morse for the beautiful images and to Kate + Jim for letting me be a part of such an amazing day. XO – Jamie

It was quite eventful in the weeks leading up to Lyndsey + Eddie’s big day. First an earthquake, then a hurricane. Mother Nature was not happy! Despite Hurricane Irene, Lyndsey + Eddie’s day was perfect. Truly. Their happiness is infectious and it was so heartwarming to experience the love between these two. Thank you to Tracy Timmester for the lovely photos and to L + E for the wonderful memories. I loved every moment of working with the two of you! xo- Jamie

We’re really getting into the holiday spirit over here! Wreaths are a festive and easy way let the neighborhood know that you’re in the spirit! We love a pretty package! With the holidays upon us, it’s the perfect opportunity to be creative + have fun with gift packaging. Last year I wrapped all of my gifts in kraft paper and tied them with a big red ribbon. I’m thinking something with a little sparkle will do the trick this year! xoxo – Jamie
