Bride & Groom Unveiled is one of our favorite events each year so we were over the moon when the Washingtonian Special Events Team asked us to be their planning partners! It was an amazing experience and we couldn’t have been happier with the way everything came together. Stay tuned for a full post on Unveiled 2012! It’s so hard to believe that the holidays are upon us. As we look back on the year, our hearts our filled with gratitude. We have so much to be thankful for – our families, good health, amazing clients, the creative + talented people that we work with. The list goes on and on. Thank you to our dear readers for following us and for your support. We wish you and your families a very happy Thanksgiving!
A few things we’re especially thankful for this week:
Jamie ~ Sundays with my family, gingerbread lattes, a job that I adore + J. Crew (I couldn’t resist!)
Kate ~ my mama’s home cooking, God’s grace, Pinterest + my running shoes
Jess ~ warm little hugs at the end of each day, the love of my family + friends, hot yoga + chocolate peanut butter dipped cupcakes
Claire ~ my thoughtful husband, cozy new UGG slippers + a year that’s been filled with wonderful surprises
I was so excited when my dear friend Jayne asked me to be a part of a “day in the life” photo shoot she and her mom, Amie Sue, were putting together. In honor of her grandparents 65th wedding anniversary, Jayne wanted to document how “mom-mom” and “pop-pop” spend a typical day. They enjoy the little things like a long breakfast together, sharing a hot dog + soda at Sam’s Club and date night. I love that after 65 years, mom-mom and pop-pop still make time for date night. They are such an inspiration and a reminder of what true love really is. Seeing them interact (and make each other laugh!) warmed my heart. Happy 65th Anniversary, mom-mom + pop-pop… you really are a perfect pair! xoxo, Jamie

We’re back with part II of our inspirational shoot! The engagement celebration was hosted by the couple’s dearest friends, Maya + Josh. You might recognize these two as former Simply Chic clients. It was so much fun having Maya + Josh be a part of our shoot and they were so sweet to make the trip to Charlottesville. Thanks M + J! What a week it’s been. A great one! We were in Charlottesville, for business, on Wednesday and had a little (HUGE, actually!) celebrity run in. Dave Matthews + his wife were celebrating their anniversary and he was kind enough to take a photo with a few long time fans. We had so much fun participating in the Washingtonian’s fabulous bridal event, Unveiled, this past Sunday! It’s always great to meet new brides and catch up with some of our favorite vendors! For our space, we went with a soft + spring-y feel. The freezing temperatures and snow have us counting the days until spring (and spring weddings!). A special thank you to Multiflor, Meant to be Calligraphy and Party Rental. We couldn’t have done it without you!
