I was so excited when my dear friend Jayne asked me to be a part of a “day in the life” photo shoot she and her mom, Amie Sue, were putting together. In honor of her grandparents 65th wedding anniversary, Jayne wanted to document how “mom-mom” and “pop-pop” spend a typical day. They enjoy the little things like a long breakfast together, sharing a hot dog + soda at Sam’s Club and date night. I love that after 65 years, mom-mom and pop-pop still make time for date night. They are such an inspiration and a reminder of what true love really is. Seeing them interact (and make each other laugh!) warmed my heart. Happy 65th Anniversary, mom-mom + pop-pop… you really are a perfect pair! xoxo, Jamie

The final (and my favorite!) part of our inspirational photo shoot was an intimate garden reception at the gorgeous Clifton Inn. We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful backdrop! The weather was so good to us (phew!) and everything came together just as we had envisioned. A very special thank you, again, to our amazing team and to What Junebug Loves and Elizabeth Anne Designs for featuring our photo shoot. It was an incredible experience and we’re already dreaming up the next one!

We’re back with part II of our inspirational shoot! The engagement celebration was hosted by the couple’s dearest friends, Maya + Josh. You might recognize these two as former Simply Chic clients. It was so much fun having Maya + Josh be a part of our shoot and they were so sweet to make the trip to Charlottesville. Thanks M + J! We hope you enjoy the engagement festivities and can’t wait to share images from the garden reception next!

We’ve had such an amazing season working with truly wonderful couples (we really do have the best clients!) and can’t wait to share images from each of their weddings. In the meantime, I’m thrilled to feature our first inspirational photo shoot. An inspirational shoot was something that we had talked about for ages. It was important to us that we find the perfect location and a great team of vendors to help bring our vision to life. We wanted to keep it real and inspire couples with a shoot they can relate to. Our initial source of inspiration was the grey + white chevron pattern (I’m a little obsessed), which we incorporated into each scene. The shoot was divided into three parts and ultimately tells a story. Up first – the proposal!

What a week it’s been. A great one! We were in Charlottesville, for business, on Wednesday and had a little (HUGE, actually!) celebrity run in. Dave Matthews + his wife were celebrating their anniversary and he was kind enough to take a photo with a few long time fans. Thanks for making our week, Dave, and to Anne + Bill Holland for the photo! Happy weekend!

Happy weekend! I can’t wait to see Jenny + Greg in the Washington Post on Sunday. In the meantime, it’s fun seeing them in the Lifestyle section online. Thanks to Anne + Bill Holland for the sneak peek image!

We hope everyone had a nice (and relaxing) holiday weekend! One of my darling brides sent me a link for a 55th anniversary shoot and it completely melts my heart. I can’t resist re-posting this sweet shoot. I want to do a little photo shoot with my husband in 50 years. These two love birds are a true reminder that it only gets better with age. xo

Ribbons are pretty simple but can really make a statement. When used in abundance, ribbon adds texture and lots of visual interest. We love using ribbon to complement varying styles. Ribbons can be hung, draped or tied to create a vintage, glam, preppy, colorful or pretty feel. Using ribbon is such a simple way to make your day a little bit fancy.
