We’ve been anxiously awaiting the release of Anthropologie’s bridal collection, BHLDN. The line is scheduled to launch on Valentine’s Day and will feature wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses, accessories + gifts. From the tiny glimpses that we’ve seen, it’s pure gorgeousness. Soft, feminine and ethereal. Just what we expect from our beloved Anthro. Something to dream about on these cold, wintry days.

Melissa + Kevin were married at the Halcyon House (one of my most favorite DC venues) and the day couldn’t have been more perfect. M + K envisioned a clean and sleek event with lots of delicious food. They’re total foodies and their menu was one of the best that I’ve seen. We’re talking a raw bar paired with vodka, tapas and sangria, peking duck and sake, three course plated dinner and my personal fave- sweets. It was so much fun working with M + K and helping them personalize their day. Thank you to our fabulous team of vendors and to Michelle Lindsay for the photos. Congrats, Melissa + Kev!
We had so much fun participating in the Washingtonian’s fabulous bridal event, Unveiled, this past Sunday! It’s always great to meet new brides and catch up with some of our favorite vendors! For our space, we went with a soft + spring-y feel. The freezing temperatures and snow have us counting the days until spring (and spring weddings!). A special thank you to Multiflor, Meant to be Calligraphy and Party Rental. We couldn’t have done it without you!

I attended a birthday party last weekend (always love being a guest!) and was so excited to learn that Pinkberry would be served for dessert. Made my day! I’m happy to share that Pinkberry now caterers weddings and special events. What a perfect addition a “Pinkberry Bar” would be for an engagement party, bridal shower or as a late night treat for your wedding guests. Enjoy! xo- Jess

I’m finding myself with a serious case of writer’s block. It’s impossible to put into words how much I adore Claire + Jason. They’re so special and their wedding is one that I’ll always hold near and dear to my heart. My first meeting with Claire was over coffee (more than two years ago). We sat and chatted for over three hours. I left giddy and hopeful that Claire would “pick me.” I’m so thankful that she did and even more thankful for the incredible friendship that we’ve developed. It’s that time of year again! Washingtonian Bride & Groom magazine is hosting their annual Unveiled wedding showcase on Sunday, January 23rd, from 11am – 3pm at the Park Hyatt. Attendees will meet and mingle with DC’s premiere wedding vendors, take in a Vera Wang bridal gown runway show and sample award winning cocktails and cuisine by the Park Hyatt’s executive chef, Brian McBride. Tickets are available for $55.00 here. We can’t wait to see you there!
There’s just something special about handwritten calligraphy on a wedding invitation. It really helps set the tone for what’s to come. One of my lovely brides recently introduced me to the stunning work of Nancy Howell and I was immediately smitten! Nancy can produce pretty penmanship in a variety of styles. She ranks right up there with other faves Laura Hooper, love*jenna, Michele Fritz and Paperfinger. I’m always in awe of these ladies and their oh so pretty handwriting. xo – Kate

I’m so excited to kick off the new year with Maya + Josh’s gorgeous wedding! Maya + Josh and their wedding are so near and dear to my heart. I loved everything about this wedding. Working with Maya, Josh and their families was a definite highlight of my 2010. The day was a complete reflection of the couple and their infectious happiness. Thank you, Maya + Josh for allowing me to be a part of such an incredible day. I love y’all!
